Niagara has one of the oldest populations in Ontario and some of its oldest housing, and the two meet in the bathroom. Trenworks installs stainless steel grab bars across the whole region, from Grimsby and Beamsville along the lake through St. Catharines, Thorold and Niagara-on-the-Lake to Niagara Falls, Welland, Port Colborne and Fort Erie, in century homes, post-war bungalows, new subdivisions, apartments and retirement residences. Every job is quoted from two photos of the bathroom before anything is booked, and the bar carries 500 lb when we leave.
Where we install in Niagara
- St. Catharines: the region’s largest city, the most pre-1975 bathrooms, and the hospital most Niagara families are discharged from.
- Niagara Falls: Stamford and Drummond bungalows, Chippawa, and the newer west end.
- Welland: post-war canal-side homes, Dain City, Cooks Mills and North Welland.
- Thorold: the old core by the locks, Confederation Heights, Rolling Meadows.
- Niagara-on-the-Lake: heritage bathrooms in Old Town, Virgil, St. Davids and Glendale.
- Fort Erie: Crystal Beach and Ridgeway cottages made year-round, Stevensville, Bridgeburg.
- Port Colborne: Humberstone and Sugarloaf bungalows and the canal-side core.
- Lincoln, Beamsville, Vineland and Jordan: village homes, 1970s bungalows and the newer Beamsville subdivisions.
- Grimsby: the old downtown, the escarpment streets and the Winston Road condos.
- On the Hamilton side: Stoney Creek, Hamilton and Burlington.
Why Niagara families call
- A hospital discharge. The St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland hospitals and the urgent care sites in Fort Erie and Port Colborne send people home every day to a bathroom that is not ready for them. We work to the discharge date and follow the occupational therapist’s positions when there are some.
- A parent who is not moving. Most of our Niagara calls come from a son or daughter, often in Toronto or out of province, whose parent has been in the same house for forty years and intends to stay. Grab bars are the cheapest way to make that possible.
- Snowbirds coming home. Niagara-on-the-Lake, Fort Erie and Port Colborne have a lot of them. The bathroom can be done while they are away, with a neighbour letting the installer in.
- The free bar with a cutout. If the tub itself is the problem, a bathtub step cutout turns it into a low step-in shower in one visit, and the stainless grab bar comes free with it.
What we install in Niagara homes
- Brushed stainless steel grab bars, 18-inch and 24-inch, straight or L-shaped, diamond-knurled grip, covered end caps, no rust. Rated for 500 lb.
- Anchoring matched to the wall: ceramic tile as standard, porcelain, marble and granite with the extra drilling they need, fiberglass and acrylic surrounds, concrete and block, plaster in older homes, and a WingIts anchor on drywall. Every hole sealed against water.
- Fitted on the same visit: toilet safety rails, hand-held shower wands with a grab bar mount, anti-slip treatment for the tub floor, bath benches.
- Five-year parts and labour warranty on every installed bar. Fully insured, WSIB covered.
How a Niagara visit works
- Photos first. Two pictures of the tub or shower. We reply with the bars we recommend, where each goes, and a firm quote. Nobody comes to sell you anything.
- The walkthrough. On the day, before any drilling, the installer shows the bars and confirms every position for how the person actually moves. If the bars are for a parent, we work with them directly.
- One visit, one to three hours. Bars are ready to use 12 hours later, once the sealant has set, and the bathroom is left clean.
Niagara installations are grouped into dedicated Niagara days, so several homes in the region are done on the same trip. When we confirm your quote we give you the next Niagara date, and one visit covers everything on the list. Grab bar installation in Niagara: common questions
Which Niagara towns do you cover?
All of them: St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland, Thorold, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Pelham and Fonthill, Lincoln with Beamsville, Vineland and Jordan, Grimsby and West Lincoln, plus Stoney Creek, Hamilton and Burlington on the way in.
How soon can you come to Niagara?
Niagara installations are grouped into dedicated Niagara days, so several homes are done on the same trip. Send two photos, approve the quote, and we give you the next Niagara date when we confirm it. Tell us the discharge date if there is one and we work to it.
Is there a trip charge for Niagara?
The quote we send from your photos is the price for the whole job. There is no separate trip charge hidden in it.
Can an out-of-town family member arrange the installation?
Yes, and most Niagara jobs are booked that way. Send the photos and approve the quote from anywhere; we confirm every position with your parent on the day, before any drilling, and text you when it is done.
Do you install in older homes with plaster walls?
Yes. A large share of Niagara housing was built before 1975, and plaster, lath and tile on a mortar bed are routine for us. The anchoring for your wall is stated in the quote.
